Purpose
Much of our work of the SEN Administration Team is directed at fulfilling the Statutory duties an LEA has, to provide access to education for all children. To this end, we rely heavily on the 'SEN Code of Practice For Wales' to guide us in meeting these duties.
Our ultimate objective is to enable pupils with special educational needs to reach their full potential.
Co-Ordinated SEN Services
The SEN Administration Team supports and works in partnership with:
- The Bridgend Educational Psychology Service
- The Bridgend Access and Inclusion Service

Parental Concerns
The Bridgend SEN Administration Team employs a Parental Liaison Officer (PLO) as a contact point for parents of children with special educational needs who may wish to express their concerns regarding special educational provision for their children.
The PLO provides a listening ear, an opportunity for parents to discuss their concerns regarding aspects of special educational provision for their child.
Schools
The Service liaises with schools regarding placements in a range of the Authority’s specialised educational provision including the Borough’s two day-special schools. A copy of the application form for placement in a special school can be found in the SEN Administration section of Downloads.
